The Thirty Fours | Homes | 2015

TWO ARCHITECTURAL HOMES IN SILVER LAKE. These two homes sit on a tranquil street in the hills above Sunset Junction with 180-degree views of the Los Angeles Observatory, the iconic Hollywood sign, Silver Lake hills, and city lights. Each house includes three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths with walk-out patios, a two-car garage with direct entry, and a back yard. Because these split-level homes have three floors in the rear, but only two at the street, they blend in with the neighboring one and two story facades. The saw tooth pattern front façade of the Thirty Fours is clad in custom corrugated sheet metal and stucco of varying hues. This pattern follows the street curve and presents itself to passing pedestrians first as multicolored, then as black and white. The corner pocketing window systems, pivoting metal and glass entry door add to the exterior interest of the homes.
